While LEGO has currently only applied that term to Star Wars-themed sets, many collectors view sets like this and the recent 76139 Batmobile to be UCS-equivalents. (I’d guess an actual age requirement for this set would be closer to 10+, as there’s nothing super complex about the build.) What is missing is any sort of “Ultimate Collector Series” (UCS) messaging. Unfortunately, our review copy was banged up a bit in transit, but you can still see that the box for this set is pretty sharp looking with the “Adult Collector” styling, which means a plain black background, prominent logos, and a mandatory 18+ age rating. As for the fan itself, I've already scavenged an engine fan from an AMT Plow Truck kit I'm using for a kitbash anyway, had to trim it down to fit in the fan box, but it will only be visible from the top, anyway.The pandemic has had a pretty grim impact on cinematic release schedules this year. Thankfully, the Fan housing only needed the top chopped off and replaced with a bit of packaging card, though the mounting for the fan is going to be fun since its suspended into the box with spindly legs. I'm gonna have to scratch together some stands for it. Mounting the rear lightbar is gonna be a bitch.
Thankfully, the photos of the restoration of the original Ecto-1 are really helpful in seeing what goes where and what details AMT screwed-up (turns out they mounted the green tube on the passenger's side lower on the rack on the original car than it goes on the rack on the kit), although I'm regretting having cut out the connections between the bars on the roof rack, since they were actually present on the original car (I should've known the paper model wouldn't know about the shielding). Already had to build the bit on the roof rack that looks like a scaled-up capacitor (the red and white googaw on the rear-drivers section of the rack). This build is definitely a teaching build in scratch-building.
